HOUSE DISTRICT 49
Access to a quality public education is a right all students have enshrined in Montana’s constitution. We need to fully fund our public schools at the state level so that local tax bases aren’t continuously asked for levies and bonds. As a parent of a middle schooler and a high school student I will advocate in Helena to ensure school districts across the state have the resources they need to deliver the education our students are guaranteed. I have worked closely with SD2 officials in Billings as part of the parent advisory committee this school year and have enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the district and the plans for the future of education in Billings.
Healthcare is a human right. In Helena I will advocate for Medicaid and Medicare expansion in Montana. Rural healthcare access is a matter of life and death in our Montana communities. I will fight to maintain our rural healthcare system and resist the call to close facilities. All children in Montana should have access to healthcare and I’m in favor of raising income limits for HMK eligibility for Montana families.
Our Montana landscapes are unparalleled and our public lands belong to all of us. I will work to improve public access and advocate for responsible stewardship of our natural resources. I will work to preserve Montana’s environment for Montana families, not relax regulations for corporations.
